Learning Toys For 1 Year Olds

learning toy for 1 year oldAs my daughter turns 1, I know there are a lot of new things in stored for her-new learning, experiences, and discoveries. There is a lot of exploring to do on what the world has to offer. I want to give her the best toys that will enhance her learning and development. As moms, we only want the best for them, isn’t it?

During this age, it is important to know their developmental milestones and cognitive abilities.  1 year olds have their many firsts. So watch out for it… Watching my daughter, I found out that she is able to concentrate more and much eager to know what things are all about. She is more aware of the cause and effect sequence, and able to recognize basic things and do simple tasks.  They absorb everything really fast – Mimics every action and words I say. So moms, more than ever, always be careful with your words and action around these little ones.

With these observations, I searched on the best toys that will support her learning abilities.  I came to know that toys should not only enhance the cognitive skill, but we also have to make sure that it should enhance physical, emotional and social learning as well. Any toy for that matter is a learning toy, even simple things we have at home can be a learning toy for them. The issue here now is safety and what more can a toy offer. If a 1 year old holds an interest on something this means that they are curious so learning takes place.

Our children are intellectual beings, even though 1 year olds develop at their own pace and reach milestones at different moments, it is important to provide them the best learning experience. Always remember that at this age, they learn best through play, so as their primary care provider, it is our responsibility to offer them the best learning tool and be there to support them during and after their learning years.
